This formal majlis design in Lusail explores a calm, welcoming setting for conversation and hosting. The brief described a room that could support both family use and formal occasions, with a refined atmosphere that did not feel rigid.
The hosting brief
The starting point was the relationship between comfort and formality. A majlis needs to accommodate people, conversation and movement; the design narrative places those uses alongside the visual character of the room.
Seating and conversation
The proposed seating faces into the gathering space, encouraging conversation. Neutral sofas establish a light base, while the arrangement of tables and seating gives the room its composition.
Guest circulation
The layout should be read in the context of the actual plan and the final implementation requirements. The project visuals communicate the design direction; they do not replace verified dimensions or technical checks.
Palette, materials and lighting intent
The design combines soft neutral tones with marble-table elements, textured finishes and touches of gold detailing. These elements are intended to add depth without making the room feel visually crowded.
Warm lighting intent is integrated into the ceiling and wall composition. Its role in the concept is to support the architecture and create a welcoming atmosphere, with the final technical design and installation treated as separate responsibilities.
